Volunteer Reception Center Management

This two day advanced course will provide local jurisdictions with the skills necessary to effectively manage volunteers that spontaneously arrive following a local disaster and how to effectively set up a Volunteer Reception Center.

Course Length: 16 hours

Course Timeline: Unless otherwise stated, registration is always 30 minutes prior to the class start time.

Prerequisite: The newly revised Volunteer and Donation Management and IS 244.b Developing and Managing Volunteers. Participants are asked to bring their jurisdictions volunteer management plan or annex with them to class along with any sample press releases they have issued related to requesting volunteers.

Target Audience/Discipline: This course is designed for federal, state and local emergency management officials and related professionals and agencies working with all types of volunteers and volunteer agencies.

Scheduled Classes: There are no scheduled dates for this course.
