REAC 120 Emergency Action Levels (EALs) and Protective Actions (PARs/PAGs)
This is a two-part course and covers the following: Emergency Action Levels (EALs) familiarize personnel with the bascis of nuclear plant emergency plans (E-Plan) and nuclear facility protective actions (EALs, PARs and PAGs) from a licensee and plant perspective. This will include an introduction to E-Plan classifications, licensee emergency response facilities, emergency response organization and NRC Tiered Incident Response. Protective Actions (PARs/PAGs) provides the technical basis behind protective action recommendations (PARs) , the use of EPA and FDA protective action guides (PAGs) in developing PARs and a comparison of the utility's and Agency's PARs.
