Emergency Planning Process

This newly-revised two day course (October 2014) is designed to promote the development of an integrated Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). Established planning concepts are reviewed and discussed. The components of an effective Emergency Operations Plan are presented and discussed. This course will review the planning process, hazard specific planning and hazard analysis. This course addresses all Emergency Operations Plan requirements outlined in the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Administrative Rules. Participants will have the opportunity to apply what they have learned during group activities.

Course Timeline: Unless otherwise stated, registration is always 30 minutes prior to the class start time.

Prerequisite: FEMA Independent Study IS 235- Emergency Planning must be completed before attending this course and a copy of the certificate forwarded to IEMA before you will be allowed to take the classroom portion of Emergency Planning. Please forward a copy of your certificate for FEMA Independent Study IS 235 to IEMA, 2200 South Dirksen Parkway, Springfield, Illinois 62703, Attention: Training. Once we receive the certificate, we will add it to your official student transcript.

Target Audience/Discipline: This course is designed for federal, state and local emergency management officials, volunteer organizations and private sector businesses involved in developing or updating an Emergency Operations Plan (EOP).
