Certification and re-certification in Industrial Radiography, is a two-step process. First you must submit the Exam application and fee. Once you pass the exam, you then would submit the certification application and fee.

Applications can be faxed (217)785-9946 or emailed ema.radtech@illinois.gov. Once the application is processed you will receive an email with information to login and pay online.

  Exams are computer-based testing. You will have the opportunity to choose a location, date, and time to test. You will receive detailed information during the application process. Please click this link to see when each months’ roster closes test date (Monthly Roster).

  For New Certifications, the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) is required to sign off for the minimal work experience on the application.

After faxing or emailing the application and any other documents required for Trainee or Reciprocity, “DO NOT” mail the application or anything else. It will no longer be necessary to do, unless it is requested by the Agency.

After the Agency has received either application, applicants will receive an email with a certification number and link to login and pay by credit card.

Once logged-in, the screen will display the applicant’s (profile) name, address, email, and status, with an ability to update or add an address or email. You will also see “Make Payment” button. This will take you to JetPay screen to pay with your credit card. When this is filled and submitted, it will bring you back to your profile screen and you will see the application payment.

After payment is received, the Agency will review the application and process according to application type. Examinees will receive detailed information via email and Certified Radiographers should receive their card in the mail within 3 weeks.
