Emergency Worker (EW)
This training consists of an overview of the Illinois Plan for Radiological Accidents (IPRA) and the issue and use of dosimetry to control exposure to ionizing radiation. All persons who are currently registered as an IPRA responder or who may be new to the position should attend. The following groups should be represented: ISP, IDNR, IDOT, County response personnel from the Sheriff, Highways and Health Departments; municipal fire and police staff; fire protection district staff and volunteers; ambulance staff and volunteers; school personnel to include: the superintendent, principal, maintenance supervisor, transportation director and school bus drivers; nursing home staff; municipal park district and forest preserve staff; and, special services staff.
